FIFA president praises Jordan's World Cup performance

Dallas, June 27 (Petra) – FIFA President Gianni Infantino visited the Jordanian national football team's training camp in Dallas, Texas, ahead of their final group stage clash against Argentina in the 2026 World Cup.

During his visit, Infantino met with HRH Prince Ali bin Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association (JFA), the national team players, and the coaching staff led by coach Jamal Salami.

Infantino expressed his admiration for the team's performance in their first-ever World Cup appearance.

Praising development of Jordanian football, FIFA President said the national team's achievements in recent years reflect the "significant" work implemented within the Jordanian football system.

Infantino said the Jordanian national team displayed "remarkable" fighting spirit and determination throughout the tournament, presenting a "positive" image of Jordanian and Arab football.

He also praised the "outstanding" presence of Jordanian fans, noting their unwavering support created a special atmosphere for the World Cup.

For his part, Prince Ali expressed his appreciation for Infantino's visit, adding that FIFA's support contributes to the continued development of Jordanian football.

His Highness also expressed his pride in the national team's performance in the tournament.

His Highness indicated the national team's aspiration to continue its participation in the World Cup finals in future competitions, building upon this "historic" achievement.

Concluding the visit, Prince Ali and Infantino exchanged commemorative shields and gifts.

His Highness also presented a national team shirt and a Jordanian kufiya scarf to the FIFA President.
