FM discusses UAE drone strike in call with Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed

Tallinn, Estonia, May 17 (Petra) -- Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi held a telephone call on Sunday with the UAE's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the fallout of the recent drone attack in Abu Dhabi.

The discussion centered on the repercussions of the assault that targeted an electrical generator outside the inner perimeter of the Barakah nuclear power plant in the Al Dhafra region.

During the call, Safadi strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a dangerous escalation and a clear violation of international law and the United Nations Charter.

Safadi reaffirmed Jordan's absolute solidarity with the United Arab Emirates. He stressed that the kingdom stands firmly alongside the UAE in all measures it implements to counter such aggression, safeguard its national security and sovereignty, and ensure the safety of its territory, citizens, and residents.

The two ministers also discussed avenues to strengthen international cooperation and intensify joint diplomatic efforts to de-escalate regional tensions and establish permanent security and stability in the region.
