Maan Governorate Council approves 2027 budget of JD9.7 million

Maan, Sept. 9 (Petra) -- The Maan Governorate Council has approved the governorate’s 2027 budget, totaling JD9.73 million, allocated to a range of development and service projects and programs across the governorate based on priorities and needs identified in coordination with the relevant sectors.

The budget was approved following a series of meetings and discussions focused on directing allocations towards projects considered the highest priority and having the greatest impact on services provided to citizens, while ensuring the optimal use of available resources and distributing them according to the actual needs of different areas of the governorate.

The budget includes allocations for several key sectors, most notably JD2.4 million for health, about JD1.509 million for public works and housing, and approximately JD1.3525 million for education and human resources. Additional allocations were made for water, social development, local administration, and other service and development areas.

The Maan Governorate Council said the budget had been prepared and approved through a participatory approach with the governorate’s Executive Council, helping identify priorities and direct allocations towards projects with a direct impact.

It commended the cooperation and coordination demonstrated by the Executive Council, chaired by Maan Governor Khaled Al-Hajjaj, and the efforts made throughout the budget preparation process to serve the public interest and meet the needs of different areas of the governorate.

At the conclusion of the budget discussions, Maan Governorate Council Chairman Mousa Al-Shalabi said the next phase would focus on monitoring implementation of the listed projects and increasing completion rates to ensure that approved allocations were translated into tangible projects and services.

He praised the efforts of members of the governorate council and executive council, as well as the cooperation extended by Maan Governor throughout the preparation of the budget and discussions on its priorities.
