IEC Opens Accreditation for Media Covering 2026 Industrial Chamber Elections

Amman, Aug. 9 (Petra) -- The Independent Election Commission (IEC) has opened accreditation for journalists and media personnel wishing to cover the 2026 elections for the boards of directors of the chambers of industry and the elections of representatives of industrial sectors.

The accreditation process is governed by the 2023 executive instructions regulating the accreditation of journalists, media professionals, photographers, technicians and other personnel working for local and international print, audiovisual and broadcast media organizations to cover the electoral process.

Applications will be accepted from Sunday, Aug. 9, 2026, through the end of working hours on Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2026. The IEC said no applications would be accepted after the deadline.

In a statement issued Sunday, the commission called on eligible journalists, media professionals, photographers, technicians and other media personnel wishing to cover the elections to visit the IEC website, review the relevant executive instructions and complete the approved accreditation forms.

The IEC said it is committed to working with media organizations and taking the necessary measures to enable journalists to cover the different stages of the electoral process in accordance with Jordanian legislation and international best practices.

For inquiries about media accreditation, the commission said applicants can contact Press@entikhabat.jo.
