Mid-sized apartment purchases climb 6% over eight months

Amman, Sept. 10 (Petra) -- Jordan saw a 6 percent rise in mid-sized apartment sales over the past eight months as buyers gravitated toward 1,290-to-1,615-square-foot homes, according to the Department of Land and Survey (DLS).

Buyers purchased 6,552 mid-sized units through August, up from 6,197 during the same period last year. August recorded a particularly sharp surge for this segment, with sales jumping 18 percent year-over-year to 1,074 units compared to 914 last August.

Demand for larger homes also strengthened, according to the DLS. Sales of apartments over 1,615 square feet grew 8 percent in August, reaching 1,856 units versus 1,723 in August 2025.

Overall sales across all apartment sizes totaled 22,767 units in the first eight months of the year, with August accounting for 3,708 transactions, a slight increase from 3,677 during the same month last year.

East Amman topped the nationwide market activity, led by Nuwayjis with 456 transactions and Tabarbour with 399. Other key growth hubs included Jubeiha in North Amman with 344 sales, Batrawi in Zarqa with 338, and Wadi Al-Seer in West Amman with 296.
