Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) -- Mild autumn conditions will prevail across most of Jordan on Tuesday, with a slight chance of brief showers and thunder in the far east before temperatures begin a gradual rise through Friday, the Jordan Meteorological Department said.
The weather will remain pleasant across most regions, while moderate conditions are expected in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Clouds will appear at varying altitudes, with northwesterly to northeasterly winds occasionally picking up and raising dust across the Badia.
The department warned of reduced visibility due to dust in desert areas, high mountain regions and parts of the plains. It also cautioned motorists against slippery roads in the far east, where isolated showers could develop around midday.
Tuesday's temperatures are forecast to reach 25 degrees Celsius in East Amman and 23 C in West Amman, with highs of 21 C in the northern highlands, 20 C in the Sharah highlands, 24 C across the plains and 28 C in the Badia.
Warmer conditions will persist in low-lying areas, with highs of 30 C in the northern Jordan Valley and Aqaba, and 32 C in the southern Jordan Valley and at the Dead Sea.
Temperatures will edge higher on Wednesday, although pleasant weather will continue across most regions. Showers are possible around midday in parts of the northeastern Badia, potentially accompanied by thunder.
Moderate northeasterly winds will become active at intervals, stirring dust, particularly across desert areas.
A further slight increase in temperatures is expected on Thursday, bringing moderate weather to most regions and relatively hot conditions to the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba. Medium- and high-level clouds will appear, while easterly winds may occasionally raise dust, especially in the Badia.
The warming trend will continue on Friday, with moderate conditions across most of the country and relatively hot weather in the Badia, Jordan Valley, Dead Sea and Aqaba, accompanied by moderate easterly winds.
