Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) – Minister of Water and Irrigation, Raed Abu Soud, called for boosting "efficiency" of water supply and to address citizens' concerns with "utmost responsibility." During a visit Thursday to Jordan Water Company (Miyahuna), Abu Soud toured the company's facilities, reviewed customer services, and observed the supply mechanism.

Accompanied by the company's CEO, Mohammad Kharabsheh, the minister emphasized the importance of monitoring water supply in all areas, including Amman's neighboring governorates.

The minister urged proactive engagement with citizens to grasp their needs, and strengthen partnership to ensure success of the Kingdom's water sector strategy.

He also noted the necessity of launching "effective" technical plans to address water challenges, particularly during periods of increased water demand.

In turn, Kharabsheh presented Miyahuna's procedures aimed at improving services provided to citizens, increasing efforts to cut water loss, and developing the company's technical and professional performance to deliver the best possible services.

Kharabsheh noted the continued implementation of preparedness plans to secure needs of the summer of 2026 by developing several scenarios and the necessary procedures to secure additional sources to meet demand.

Action to raise level of readiness and performance, launch preparation of work plans for the summer of 2026, and ensure continuity of water and sanitation services for all subscribers in all areas served by the company are the "true measures of success," he pointed out //Petra// AG
