Three BAU Teams Advance to Arab-African Programming Championship

Salt, Sept. 22 (Petra) -- Three teams from Al-Balqa Applied University (BAU) have qualified for the Arab and Africa Collegiate Programming Championship in Egypt after competing against nearly 100 teams from universities across Jordan.

The teams secured their places at the regional competition following strong performances in the Jordanian Collegiate Programming Contest (JCPC), held at the Applied Science Private University and organized by the Jordan Programmers Association.

BAU fielded 18 teams in the national contest, where students tackled challenges designed to test programming, algorithmic thinking, logical analysis and problem-solving skills.

University President Ahmad Fakhri Al-Ajlouni said the qualification reflects BAU's investment in developing talented students and providing training that strengthens their technical and competitive skills.

He said programming competitions give students an opportunity to apply academic knowledge to practical challenges while developing the problem-solving abilities required in technology-related fields.

The three qualifying teams emerged from BAU's Problem Solving Club, which provides continuous training and prepares students for local and regional programming competitions.

The club is supervised by Karam Eghneim, Assistant Dean of Student Affairs at the Prince Abdullah bin Ghazi Faculty of Information and Communication Technology, who oversees the preparation and training of participating teams.

Acting Dean Mohammad Ryalat said the results demonstrate the progress students have made in programming, logical reasoning and problem-solving, stressing the faculty's continued support for activities that strengthen practical skills and prepare students for competitive events.

The President of the Jordan Programmers Association also praised the performance of BAU's teams, saying the university has made notable progress in programming and problem-solving competitions in recent years.

He said the Problem Solving Club's sustained training program has helped improve students' programming abilities and competitive performance.
