Amman, Feb. 15 (Petra) – The Higher Committee for the Scientific Research Prize for Jordanian Universities’ Students announced launch of the 28th cycle for 2026.

Organized by the Middle Eastern Studies Centre (MESC), the award is held in cooperation with the University of Jordan, Jordan University of Science and Technology, Yarmouk University, Zarqa University, and Philadelphia University.

During a press conference held on Sunday, Dr. Bayan Omari, the Committee's Vice Chairman stated the award aims to provide opportunities for university students to research a slew of issues at local, Arab, Islamic, and global levels and offer an environment that offers tools of scientific research.

Omari noted this year's edition has introduced several research topics, which offer scientific and methodological approaches that contribute to students' mastery of scientific research tools and production of Jordanian and Arab knowledge on the current issues.

Omari added that the accolade is open to undergraduate and Master's students and encompasses 21 comprehensive research areas within the local, Arab, Islamic, and international frameworks.

On eligibility, she announced acceptance of research for competition must meet several scientific criteria, mainly: Originality, non-publication or prior submission to any other entity, adherence to a modern scientific research methodology, and use of artificial intelligence and its tools within specified limits, as well as other technical requirements.

Omari indicated that the deadline for submitting the research proposal is July 1, while the closing date for sending the competing work is September 15.

She added that winning students will receive cash prizes of JD1,000 for the first place, while the 2nd, 3rd and 4th ranked students will receive JD750, JD500, JD400, respectively. Cash prizes will be granted for each university professor supervising a winner's study.
