Amman, April 5 (Petra) – Head of Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA), Ali Abu Nuqta, and Chairman of Jordanian Beekeepers Association (JBA) , Muath Kazem, signed a cooperation agreement aimed at developing capabilities of agricultural engineers in the beekeeping and honey production fields.

According to an AEA statement issued on Sunday, the agreement aims to cover the Kingdom's beekeeping sector within the AEA-approved training activities and implement ad hoc practical programs that contribute to building the capacities of agricultural engineers.

The AEA said this vision alo seeks to raise awareness of the vital role of bees in supporting agricultural production and maintaining ecological balance.

The AEA indicated that the agreement aims to develop skills of Jordan's agricultural engineers in using modern technologies in apiary management and hive production to enter the job market or enhance their existing production projects, which will "positively" impact the agricultural sector.

Under the agreement, awareness initiatives will be launched to work on developing joint marketing tools that contribute to supporting distribution of Jordanian bee products and enhancing their "competitiveness." During the signing ceremony, both sides affirmed that this partnership represents a "practical" step to empower agricultural competencies and investing in a "promising" sector that is witnessing "increasing" growth, due to its direct impact on achieving agricultural sustainability and supporting the economy.
