Education minister pushes for digital transformation during Irbid school tour

Irbid, May 3 (Petra) -- Minister of Education Azmi Mahafzah conducted a field tour of schools in the Irbid district on Sunday, emphasizing the government's commitment to accelerating digital transformation within the kingdom’s school system.

During the visit, Mahafzah inspected the Department of Educational Technology and Information at the Irbid Education Directorate, where he stressed that technical services must be upgraded to improve efficiency across the educational field.

The minister underscored the importance of executing modernization projects according to strict technical and engineering standards to ensure a sophisticated institutional work environment for both staff and students.

Accompanied by the head of the directorate Raed al-Khasawneh, Mahafzah reviewed ongoing maintenance and expansion work at the technology department. He received a briefing on completion rates and future technical requirements aimed at bolstering the district’s digital infrastructure.

Mahafzah praised the administrative and technical teams for the speed and quality of the recent upgrades. He noted that the visit is part of the ministry’s broader strategy to provide continuous oversight of developmental projects across Jordan’s various educational directorates.

The tour concluded with a review of methods to enhance the quality of technical support provided to local educational institutions, ensuring that schools are equipped to meet modern technological demands.
