Egypt Decries Israeli National Security Minister’s Al-Aqsa Mosque Incursion

Cairo, Oct. 26 (Petra) - Egypt on Monday denounced Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and hundreds of settlers for storming Al-Aqsa Mosque under police escort in occupied East Jerusalem.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs decried the incursions, describing them as "provocative practices that blatantly violate the sanctity of Islamic holy sites and the established historical and legal status quo of the city." Egypt warned of the risks posed by such continuous violations, stating that they inflame regional tensions and undermine stability.

The ministry voiced Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to alter the status quo at Al-Aqsa Mosque or divide the holy site.

Cairo called on the international community to uphold its responsibilities, enforce relevant international resolutions, and compel an end to these illegal actions.
