Gaza Health Ministry: Over quarter of a million killed or wounded in Israel's war

Amman, Oct 21 (Petra) – The number of people killed in Israel's war of genocide in the Gaza Strip that began on October 7, 2023, has risen to 74,494, with with 175,604 injured, according to the Gaza Health Ministry.

The ministry said on Wednesday that hospitals in the Gaza Strip received 7 bodies of people killed and 24 wounded by Israeli fire in the last 24 hours.

The latest casualties brought the total number of fatalities since the ceasefire in October, 2025, to 1,534, and the number of injuries climbed to 5,486, said the ministry, quoted by the Palestinian News Agency "Wafa".

It said a number of victims were buried under the rubble or are on roads, inaccessible by already stretched out ambulance and rescue crews.

The Israeli war has resulted in a humanitarian catastrophe with massive destruction of homes and infrastructure, as well as the collapse of essential services, it said.

The situation is further exacerbated by the Israeli occupation army’s ongoing blockade on the entry of relief supplies and materials for reconstruction, despite the ceasefire agreement that stipulates unfettered access of supplies.
