Abu Dhabi, April 19 (Petra) -- Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, affirmed that the Council’s strategy is rooted in development and prosperity rather than war and conflict. He stated that the GCC consistently strives to establish a stable and secure environment while fostering mutual trust with regional and international partners.
Speaking on Sunday during a session titled "A Middle East Beyond Zero-Sum Politics" at the Antalya Diplomacy Forum, Albudaiwi explained that the Council’s approach is based on fundamental principles, most notably respect for state sovereignty, non-interference in internal affairs, and the peaceful resolution of disputes.
Albudaiwi highlighted that the GCC has historically been a partner in solutions driven by diplomacy and dialogue. He noted that despite the serious security challenges and recent Iranian attacks targeting the region, the GCC states have not wavered from their policies focused on development, stability, and providing international support.
The Secretary-General’s remarks come as part of a broader participation by GCC leadership in the forum to emphasize the Council’s role in navigating geopolitical uncertainties and contributing to collective visions for regional security.
