Irbid, June 18 (Petra) -- Directorate of Agriculture in Koura District Thursday announced availability of 849 temporary job opportunities under the Green Jobs project within the national afforestation program.

Implemented by the Ministry of Agriculture, in cooperation with Amman-based Innovation Threads Consulting Agency, the program is funded by the German Development Bank (KfW).

In remarks to "Petra" Thursday, Koura Agriculture Director Salem Khasawneh the temporary jobs are implemented over seven phases, with a 3-month maximum employment period in Sartaba Al-Tantour area near the Barqash olive press.

He said applications will be accepted from Sunday, June 21 through June 25, adding that 50% of the jobs are allocated for Jordanians and 50% for Syrian refugees, with a minimum of 35 percent reserved for women and 5% for persons with disabilities.

He urged women, persons with disabilities and beneficiaries of the National Aid Fund to apply and submit the required documents.

He noted employment is restricted to residents of Koura District, Tabaqet Fahel and Al-Masharea, with age limits of 18-53 years for females and 18-57 years range for males, as applicants must be non-pensioners currently.
