Amman, March 19 (Petra) – Under the direct supervision of Interior Minister Mazen Faraya, administrative governors exerted "intensive" efforts during the holy month of Ramadan, in cooperation and coordination with Jordan's security agencies, municipalities, and relevant institutions.

Faraya had instructed the administrative governors to prepare for Ramadan and develop and implement comprehensive plans and procedures aimed at enhancing security and public order.

The plan also aimed to ensure adherence to public safety guidelines, and preserve sanctity of the holy month, as well as combating negative phenomena that might disrupt its tranquility.

According to the ministry's data, the administrative governors, in cooperation and coordination with security agencies, municipalities, and relevant institutions, conducted approximately 854 inspection tours by public safety committees of various stores, establishments, and public places to monitor their compliance with public health and safety standards.

During these campaigns, approximately 2,843 actions were issued, in accordance with the provisions of relevant laws and regulations.

Additionally, the administrative governors paid special attention to charitable activities, coordinating with relevant authorities to organize 560 Ramadan-related charitable events.

These officials engaged and sponsored 208 Hashemite scholarly discussions, seminars, and religious events, as well as overseeing implementation of 352 campaigns to distribute aid and charitable packages to underprivileged people.

This effort comes in accordance with the established principles and standards of social protection methodologies employed by the relevant authorities.

In the holy month, the governors across the Kingdom were keen to participate in cultural and sporting events and activities by sponsoring 203 events, which reflect their belief in the importance of promoting cultural work and sports activities, mainly during religious seasons.
