Amman, Oct. 8 (Petra) -- Secretary-General of the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), Hussein Al-Shibli, took part in the fourth International Conference on Missing Persons, held in Baku, Azerbaijan, as part of the "Baku Dialogue on Missing Persons." The conference brings together international participants to explore ways to build trust and develop practical mechanisms and effective solutions for addressing the issue of missing persons. Discussions focus on the humanitarian impact of the issue and the need for stronger cooperation and the exchange of expertise to ensure more effective solutions that uphold the rights of affected people and their families.
Addressing the conference’s plenary session, Al-Shibli said determining the fate of missing persons and easing the suffering of their families requires greater trust and cooperation among the parties concerned, along with the prompt sharing of relevant information.
He stressed that missing persons should not be treated as mere figures in reports, but as individuals whose right to know their fate is protected by law. He added that humanitarian action is fundamentally rooted in safeguarding human dignity and turning institutional coordination into concrete action.
