Jordan’s U-20 Women’s National Team Set for AFC Asian Cup Opener Against North Korea

Amman, April 1 (Petra) – The Jordanian U-20 Women’s National Football Team will begin its campaign in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asian Cup tomorrow, Thursday, facing North Korea at 4:00 PM (Amman time) at the Pathum Thani Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The national squad, led by a 23-player roster, enters the tournament as part of a challenging Group B. Following tomorrow's opener against North Korea, Jordan is scheduled to face South Korea this coming Sunday, before concluding the group stage against Uzbekistan next Wednesday.

Tournament Format and World Cup Qualification The championship features 12 nations divided into three groups of four. Under the single round-robin format, the top two teams from each group, along with the two best third-placed finishers, will advance to the quarter-finals. Beyond the continental title, the stakes are high as the top four finishers in the tournament will secure direct qualification for the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.

The final squad selected for the finals includes: Celine Saif, Sajida Issa, Celine Shenek, Raneem Al-Daoud, Maya Awadallah, Sarah Al-Zoubi, Binar Shamali, Mira Jarrar, Rama Al-Khashouk, Marah Abbas, Lamar Al-Shalabi, Nadine Abu Salha, Raghad Al-Tarawneh, Diana Al-Khawaja, Ryana Issa, Hala Marar, Siwar Obeid, Alma Al-Saifi, Haya Abu Ali, Yasmeen Zureiqat, Arwa Al-Batayneh, Dana Abu Hazim, and Kinda Al-Titi.

The team’s participation in these finals marks a significant step in the development of Jordanian women's football on the continental stage, providing elite exposure against some of Asia’s highest-ranked programs.
