Amman, April 12 (Petra) -- The Jordan Phosphate Mines Company (JPMC) said it has increased phosphoric acid selling prices for the second quarter of the year to $1,360 per tonne, up from $1,290 in the first quarter, reflecting its strong financial position and robust negotiating power in international markets.

The company said it had agreed with major consumers in India to raise phosphoric acid prices by $70 per tonne, underscoring global confidence in the quality of Jordanian products and the reliability of supply chains.

Prices of diammonium phosphate (DAP) fertilizer also recorded a sharp increase, rising by about $100 per tonne compared with the first quarter of 2026, which is expected to directly boost the company’s profitability and expand its market share.

The company said export activity at Aqaba port remains strong, with four vessels currently waiting to load Jordanian phosphate for shipment to multiple destinations, reflecting rising global demand for the country’s raw materials.

It added that a vessel has recently docked to load phosphoric acid produced by the Indo-Jordan Chemicals Company, a JPMC wholly owned subsidiary, for export to India.

The company said the positive performance extends beyond raw material sales to its industrial arm, noting increased demand and export orders for products from the Jordan-Japan Fertilizer Company, providing an additional source of revenue for the group.

As part of its strategy to ensure uninterrupted production despite ongoing geopolitical challenges, the company said it has received a shipment of ammonia, a key input in fertilizer production, to support continuous operations and meet international commitments.

It said these positive indicators, including higher contract prices and increased logistical demand, position the company as a leading player capable of boosting profits and contributing to the national economy while demonstrating its ability to turn challenges into investment opportunities.
