Momani: Jordan’s Institutional Resilience Safeguards National Stability, Economic Growth

Amman, April 1 (Petra) – Government Spokesperson and Minister of Government Communication Mohammed Al-Momani said Wednesday that Jordan’s institutional resilience and high level of sectoral readiness have effectively insulated the Kingdom from the worst shocks of regional instability.

Speaking to Public Security Radio (Amen FM), Al-Momani emphasized that the government is operating under a Cabinet-led mandate to ensure the continuity of daily life.

He noted that contingency strategies are currently prioritizing the stability of vital national sectors, treating the protection of the consumer and the broader economy as a top sovereign interest.

Addressing Jordan’s geopolitical position, Al-Momani characterized the Kingdom’s foreign policy as one of "wisdom and balance." He issued a firm clarification on Jordan's military posture, stating that the country will not serve as a launchpad for aggression against any nation – a commitment he described as rooted in Jordan’s national interests and long-standing political principles.

Al-Momani also highlighted the diplomatic efforts of His Majesty King Abdullah II to de-escalate regional tensions. He specifically pointed to Jordan’s steadfast support for Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states in the face of external threats, a role he noted has earned widespread international and Arab appreciation.

Despite regional headwinds, Al-Momani cited positive indicators in recent investment and growth data as evidence of the economy’s structural durability.

He confirmed that supply chains for essential commodities and energy remain stable, and that the government’s graduated fuel pricing mechanism is designed to reflect global market shifts without compromising domestic stability.

On the home front, Al-Momani dismissed speculation regarding a return to remote operations, explicitly confirming there are currently no plans to shift toward remote learning or work.

He concluded by underscoring the role of professional media as the nation’s "first line of defense" against misinformation, calling for a heightened focus on factual reporting to bolster public awareness during periods of regional uncertainty.
