Amman, Nov. 8 (Petra) - Lower House Speaker Ibrahim Tarawneh and members of the chamber's Permanent Bureau visited St. George's Greek Orthodox Church in the village of Hmoud in Karak on Sunday, marking their first visit to the site following a recent terrorist attack.
The Parliamentary delegation were received by MP Haitham Zayadin, local clergy, families of the victims, and community leaders.
Tarawneh slammed the attack as an assault on all of Jordan, noting that Jordanians stand united behind the Hashemite leadership against terrorism and extremist ideology.
"Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, will remain resilient against attempts to incite division," Tarawneh said. He added that terrorist crimes only reinforce national unity and determination to safeguard the Kingdom's stability.
Expressing solidarity with the victims' families and the people of Hmoud, Tarawneh said that the village is an "enduring model of coexistence, brotherhood, and national unity." //Petra// HA
