Amman, Feb. 12 (Petra) -- The Jordanian-Saudi Brotherhood Committee in the Senate, headed by Senator Jamal Sarairah, held a series of meetings with senior Saudi government and Shura Council officials during an official visit to Saudi Arabia, aimed at enhancing cooperation and institutional coordination across multiple sectors.

Sarairah highlighted the deep-rooted historical ties binding Jordan and Saudi Arabia, expressing pride in visiting the Kingdom to further advance cooperation, particularly in the parliamentary sphere, and to sustain coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest.

He underscored the strategic dimension of Jordanian-Saudi relations and Jordan’s commitment to strengthening economic integration and promoting joint investments in a manner that serves the shared interests of both countries and their peoples.

According to a Senate statement issued Thursday, the committee met with Prince Abdulaziz bin Mohammed bin Ayyaf, Deputy Minister of Interior. Discussions covered a range of issues of common concern, reflecting the leaderships’ keenness to consolidate bilateral relations further.

At the parliamentary level, the delegation met with Shura Council Vice President Mishaal Sulami, who pointed to the longstanding relations between the two countries and stressed the role of parliamentary diplomacy in reinforcing cooperation and advancing joint coordination in service of the two peoples.

An expanded session was also held between the Saudi-Jordanian Parliamentary Friendship Committee, chaired by Ibrahim Qannas, and the Jordanian-Saudi Brotherhood Committee. The meeting addressed mechanisms for structured coordination and consultation between the two legislative bodies, aimed at facilitating the exchange of expertise and strengthening parliamentary integration.

Within the framework of sectoral engagement, the committee met with Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs Nasser Qahtani to explore prospects for cooperation in the energy sector.

Qahtani highlighted the importance of deepening the partnership in energy-related fields, commending the existing level of coordination and the opportunities available to expand collaboration in this strategic sector.
