Amman, Jan. 29 (Petra) -- The Southern Military Zone thwarted a drug smuggling attempt late Wednesday involving an unmanned aerial vehicle (drone) on its western front, in coordination with military security agencies and the Anti-Narcotics Department.

Border Guard forces detected the drone, applied rules of engagement, and brought it down inside Jordanian territory.

The seized materials were handed over to the competent authorities.
