Youth, Labour Ministers Discuss Cooperation on Training Programs for Job Seekers

Amman, Feb 9 (Petra) - Minister of Youth Raed Adwan and Minister of Labour Khaled Bakkar discussed cooperation between the two ministries in implementing specialized training programs targeting young people seeking job opportunities.

During a meeting held on Monday at the Ministry of Youth, attended by Ministry Secretary-General Mazen Abu Baqar and Acting Director General of the Vocational Training Corporation Rafat Al Sawafin, the two ministers stressed the importance of integrating national efforts to develop training programs that align with labour market needs and focus on building practical and professional skills required across various sectors, enhancing young people’s readiness to enter the workforce.

Adwan pointed to the ministry’s keenness to expand partnerships with the Ministry of Labour and relevant institutions and to invest in the infrastructure of youth centers to implement training programs and enable young people to obtain training opportunities leading to employment.

For his part, Bakkar emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Ministry of Youth in implementing vocational and technical training programs and supporting initiatives that link training to employment by equipping young people with skills required by the labour market through programs of the Vocational Training Corporation.

The meeting also discussed mechanisms for joint action and identified priority sectors for implementing training programs leading to employment.
