Amman, Oct. 29 (Petra) -- The Ministry of Environment and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) signed an agreement to rehabilitate the Mujib Chalets, upgrading visitor facilities and services to promote ecotourism and support nature conservation.
The agreement, signed by Environment Minister Ayman Suleiman and RSCN Director Fadi Naser, aims to improve the site's tourism and environmental infrastructure while promoting the sustainable use of natural resources.
The project includes completing construction work on environmental service facilities for visitors, rehabilitating the site's outdoor areas, equipping a dining hall and installing waste-sorting systems to encourage environmentally responsible practices.
Suleiman said the agreement strengthens cooperation with the RSCN to improve visitor services, promote responsible ecotourism and protect natural resources.
He reaffirmed the ministry's commitment to supporting projects that balance environmental protection with sustainable tourism development, helping preserve natural sites for future generations.
Naser described the agreement as an important step toward upgrading the Mujib Chalets and improving the visitor experience in line with sustainable ecotourism standards.
He said the RSCN, in cooperation with the ministry, seeks to develop natural sites and tourism facilities through responsible practices that respect local environmental conditions, raise environmental awareness, and encourage visitors to enjoy and protect nature.
