Amman, Oct. 7 (Petra) - Lower House First Deputy Speaker Khamis Atieh met on Wednesday with Australian House of Representatives Speaker Milton Dick on the sidelines of the 153rd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) General Assembly in Tanzania.

The lawmakers voiced their commitment to bolstering Jordanian-Australian parliamentary ties, expanding legislative exchange, and deepening cooperation within the IPU framework.

Atieh praised the partnership between the two legislative bodies, expressing appreciation for Australia's parliamentary stance on major international issues, particularly the Palestinian cause, and its support for Jordan's role in Middle East stability.

The head of the Australian parliament lauded Jordan's Lower House for its role in international parliamentary diplomacy as well as Jordan's efforts to promote regional peace.
