Amman, Oct. 20 (Petra) -- A total of 178 charitable and women’s associations and federations across the Kingdom have benefited from JD 254,000 in financial assistance this year under the Ministry of Social Development’s Associations’ Subsidy Program.
In a statement issued Tuesday, the Ministry said the funding aims to empower the voluntary sector and strengthen its role in providing services to target groups. The initiative also seeks to help associations respond more effectively to the needs of local communities and improve the quality and reach of their services.
The Ministry received 359 applications for financial assistance after inviting associations and federations under its supervision to apply through the program’s unified funding window at the beginning of the year. Applications were submitted through the Ministry’s field directorates across the Kingdom’s governorates.
The Ministry said all applications were assessed in accordance with approved criteria and regulations to ensure that financial assistance reached eligible associations and federations. The process aims to maximize the impact of the support, improve service delivery and promote the long-term sustainability of the associations sector.
