Balqa, Sep. 20 (Petra) –National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) and the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) on Sunday launched a four-day specialized training course, themed: "Hydroponics and Integrated Fish Farming: From Basic Principles to Entrepreneurship Opportunities." The course is attended by 40 recently graduated agricultural engineers and runs through September 23.
During the opening ceremony, AEA Head, Ali Abu Nuqta, stated that the event reflects partnership among national institutions, which affirms joint collaboration in developing the capabilities of recent agricultural engineering alumni and aligning modern agri-technologies with labor market needs.
He called for combining technical training with entrepreneurship, enabling participants to apply their knowledge of hydroponics and integrated fish farming to create "sustainable, productive" projects.
In turn, the course patron, Acting Director General of NARC, Dr. Zakaria Musalm, highlighted the importance of the partnership in implementing ad hoc training programs.
He noted that the program is part of the center's efforts to transfer knowledge and modern agricultural technologies to the field, while enhancing engineers' capabilities in areas such as resource-use efficiency, production sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
