Cairo, Sept. 11 (Petra)-- President of the Arab Parliament Mohamed Ahmed Al Yamahi strongly condemned and denounced the repeated Israeli occupation incursions into Syrian territory, describing them as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity of the Syrian Arab Republic, as well as a blatant breach of international law and the UN Charter.

He stressed the Arab Parliament’s categorical rejection of these violations and escalatory practices, warning of their serious repercussions on Arab national security and regional stability. He cautioned that their continuation could lead to dangerous escalation, broaden the circle of tensions, and undermine prospects for achieving regional security and peace.

Al Yamahi stressed that the continued Israeli occupation of Syrian territory constitutes a clear violation of international law and international legitimacy resolutions, reaffirming the need for Israel to fully withdraw from all occupied Syrian territories and comply with the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

He said such steps would contribute to safeguarding Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and preserving security and stability in the region.

The Arab Parliament president also renewed the Parliament’s full solidarity with the Syrian Arab Republic and its firm support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity.

He called on the international community to shoulder its legal and moral responsibilities and adopt a firm stance against Israel’s repeated violations.

He urged the international community to compel Israel to respect international law and international legitimacy resolutions and to halt its violations, in a manner that ensures the protection of Arab states’ sovereignty, safeguards their security and stability, and prevents further escalation and tensions in the region.
