Amman, March 31 (Petra) -- Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Maj. Gen. Yousef Huneiti, on Tuesday received International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) President Mirjana Spoljaric Egger and her accompanying delegation.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation and coordination between the Jordan Armed Forces and the ICRC, particularly in humanitarian assistance, relief programs, and the exchange of expertise in international humanitarian law.

Huneiti, in the presence of a number of senior armed forces officers, underscored the ICRC's role in providing support and assistance to those affected by conflicts and disasters, praising the continued cooperation between the two sides across humanitarian fields.

For her part, Egger expressed appreciation for the efforts of the Jordan Armed Forces in supporting humanitarian activities, stressing the importance of sustaining joint cooperation in support of shared humanitarian objectives.
