Amman, Jan. 26 (Petra) -- A midweek weather shift is set to bring colder conditions, stronger winds, and rain on Wednesday after a brief period of milder temperatures through Tuesday.

Temperatures are forecast to rise slightly on Monday, reaching around 4–5 degrees Celsius above seasonal averages. Despite the increase, the weather remains relatively cool in most regions, while turning milder in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba. High-level clouds appear, and southeasterly winds blow at moderate speeds, becoming active at times.

The Jordan Meteorological Department warns of the possibility of frost during the early morning hours over the high Sharah mountain ranges. It also cautions against occasional reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, particularly in desert areas.

On Tuesday, relatively cool conditions persist across most regions, with milder weather continuing in low-lying areas. Medium- and high-level clouds are expected, while winds shift to moderate southwesterly.

Weather conditions change on Wednesday as temperatures drop noticeably and colder air spreads across the Kingdom. Cloud cover increases at various levels, with rain showers developing around midday in northern regions before extending during the evening to central areas and parts of the northeastern regions.

Rain may be accompanied by thunderstorms in parts of the north and east. Later, brief and light rainfall is also expected in parts of the southwestern regions. Westerly winds strengthen and raise dust, especially in desert areas, leading to reduced horizontal visibility.

Cold and partly cloudy conditions continue on Thursday, with a lingering chance of light, scattered rain during the morning hours in parts of northern and central regions. Weather remains milder in the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea, and Aqaba, while southwesterly winds blow at moderate speeds.

Temperatures on Monday range between 18 and 7 degrees Celsius in eastern Amman and between 16 and 5 degrees in western Amman. The northern highlands record temperatures of 15 to 6 degrees, while the Sharah highlands range between 14 and 3 degrees.

Desert areas see temperatures between 19 and 4 degrees, plains between 18 and 6 degrees, and the northern Jordan Valley between 21 and 9 degrees. In the south, the Jordan Valley records 24 to 13 degrees, while the Dead Sea and the Gulf of Aqaba range between 23 to 12 degrees and 25 to 14 degrees Celsius, respectively.
