Amman, Sept. 27 (Petra) - The Cabinet on Sunday approved a series of regulatory updates to modernize the judicial sector, protect insurance policyholders, restructure special education administration, and settle outstanding tax disputes.
The Cabinet approved amendments to the 2026 Bylaw of Using Electronic Means in Civil Judicial Procedures. Aligned with the Justice Sector Strategy (2022–2026), the measure fully digitizes civil court proceedings. It eliminates the need to submit physical paper files after electronic filing and expands the use of audiovisual communication during hearings to streamline the litigation process.
Ministers approved amendments to the Insurance Beneficiaries Guarantee Fund Regulation for 2026, aligning with the Economic Modernization Vision (EMV). The framework shifts the sector from reactive crisis intervention to a preventive model that minimizes insurance company liquidations.
Under the new regulation, merged insurance companies may receive reduced or waived fund contributions, subject to conditions and timelines set by the Central Bank of Jordan.
