Amman, March 9 (Petra) -- The European Commission said on Monday that European Union member states have sufficient oil and gas reserves despite supply chain disruptions caused by the war in the Middle East.
European Commission spokesperson Anna-Kaisa Itkonen told reporters in Brussels, "We are much less concerned about the security of supply than we are about rising energy prices." According to France 24, Itkonen added that EU member states hold oil reserves sufficient for up to 90 days and that there are no indications of an emergency.
Itkonen confirmed that the Group of Seven (G7) countries will discuss the possibility of releasing strategic reserves during a meeting scheduled to be held later on Monday.
