Safadi, Fidan, and Bayramov also discussed during the two phone calls the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, and Safadi stressed the importance of unifying efforts to end the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza and prevent Israel from annexing the West Bank and killing the chances of achieving a just peace. He affirmed the necessity of the full implementation of all provisions of U.S. President Donald Trump’s plan regarding Gaza.
Safadi affirmed that Israel’s continued closure of Al-Aqsa Mosque and prevention of worshippers from reaching it to perform their religious rituals represent a flagrant assault on freedom of worship that requires an international position against it and effective action to stop it.
