Amman, March 30 (Petra) - Chairman of the Board of the Jordanian Association of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers (JAPM), Tareq Darwazeh, said a Cabinet decision to ban the export of inputs used in the pharmaceutical industry represents an important pre-emptive step to ensure the availability of medicines and strengthen drug security in the Kingdom amid current regional conditions.
The Cabinet decided on Sunday to ban the export of pharmaceutical production inputs to ensure the availability of raw materials used in the manufacture of several goods, most notably medicines, in light of the prevailing situation in the region.
Darwazeh told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) on Monday that the domestic pharmaceutical industry has always been an active partner to the government during times of crisis, continuing to support national efforts to ensure the uninterrupted availability of medicines.
He emphasized the necessity of maintaining stable supply chains to support public health and improve the healthcare sector's preparedness in light of the current regional conditions.
