Amman, April 12 (Petra) Chairman of Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA), Ayman Alawneh, on Sunday discussed with Azerbaijani Ambassador to Jordan, Shahin Abdullayev; prospects for enhancing bilateral economic and investment cooperation and advancing partnerships between the two countries business communities.

According to a JBA statement, Alawneh highlighted the "deep-rooted" relations between Jordan and Azerbaijan, citing "promising" opportunities to expand joint investments, particularly amid growing interest from investment entities and sovereign funds in the Kingdom's development projects, notably the Amra City project.

Alawneh called for strengthening cooperation across various economic sectors and activating communication channels between the two countries' private sectors by establishing a joint business council, which would enhance networking among business leaders and help explore available investment opportunities.

Alawneh also underlined the need to intensify efforts to increase Jordanian exports to the Azerbaijani market and explore new avenues for trade cooperation, particularly in value-added sectors.

For his part, Abdullayev emphasized the importance of expanding cooperation in several key sectors, primarily tourism, food industries, and energy, to support economic integration and serves mutual interests.

Noting "significant" opportunities to boost bilateral trade, he affirmed his country’s readiness to provide the necessary facilitation to encourage Jordanian investors and businesspeople to enter the Azerbaijani market.
