Amman, June 29 (Petra) – The Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Facilities (JCDCF) and the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature (RSCN) signed a landmark partnership agreement on Monday to establish a major eco-park within the first phase of the Amra City project, marking a qualitative addition to the Kingdom’s environmental initiatives.

According to a company press release, the facility will serve as the primary park for the Amra City project – the most extensive urban development project in the Kingdom's history. Spanning an area of 1,000 dunams, the park will feature water bodies as a core design element alongside green spaces and recreational areas. The site will undergo extensive landscaping with a variety of local trees and plants adapted to the region's climate, helping the park serve as a sanctuary for migratory birds and restoring the area's natural vegetation cover.

Construction is set to begin in early July, with completion scheduled within three years as part of Amra City’s first-phase projects. The RSCN will oversee the design, implementation, and long-term operation of the eco-park under the highest environmental specifications. The park's design is engineered to leverage rainwater harvesting and natural valleys and streams, following rigorous environmental, engineering, and technical feasibility studies.

The eco-park forms part of an integrated development framework for Amra City, which also features a sports city, an international convention and exhibition center, and a major entertainment hub – all aligned with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision for a greener and more sustainable future.

In a related development, The Jordanian Company for the Development of Cities and Facilities (JCDCF) announced the award of a design and feasibility study tender to a British-Saudi coalition to construct the largest amusement park in the Kingdom, also situated within the first phase of Amra City.

The first phase of the entertainment city will span 200 dunams at a cost of 50 million dinars, out of a total estimated area of 575 dunams. The venue is scheduled to begin operations by the end of 2028. The British-Saudi coalition will be responsible for executing the master plan, architectural designs, and economic feasibility studies.

Once operational, the amusement park is expected to become a premier tourism destination, creating hundreds of jobs and stimulating multiple economic sectors in line with the Economic Modernization Vision’s quality-of-life pillars.
