Jerash, 25 June (Petra) -- The ancient city of Jerash is preparing to host large public screenings of the Jordan national football team’s match against Argentina across 3 main archaeological sites, in a nationwide celebration marking Jordan’s historic qualification to the FIFA World Cup.

Three giant screens will be installed at the North Theatre, South Theatre and the Oval Plaza to stream the match for fans gathering in the historic site.

The Ministry of Youth, in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Ministry of Government Communication, the Jordan Tourism Board and Jerash Municipality, is organizing the event as part of wider national screening activities across the Kingdom.

Kickoff is scheduled for 5 a.m. on Sunday, 28 June, as gates will open at 3 a.m. to allow early entry ahead of the match.

In press remarks, officials said the screenings reflect continued public engagement following previous matches, highlighting "strong" national support for the team and reinforcing the symbolic link between sporting achievement and national identity.

They added that screenings within Jerash’s archaeological setting aims to promote Jordan’s cultural heritage internationally while supporting tourism promotion through high-visibility public gatherings.

Organizers confirmed security and logistical arrangements were completed, including crowd control measures, designated entry and exit routes, and strict adherence to capacity limits across all locations.

On safety guidelines, authorities urged the public to arrive early, avoid overcrowding, and preserve the archaeological site, as fans encouraged to carry national flags and traditional symbols to support the team.
