Amman, Oct. 30 (Petra)-- Saleh Al-Khawaldah - Trade exchange between Jordan and Türkiye exceeded $2 billion last year, while around 100 Turkish companies are operating in the Kingdom, Turkish Ambassador to Jordan Hakan Karçay said.
Speaking at a reception hosted by the Turkish Embassy in Amman on Thursday to mark the 103rd anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Türkiye, Karçay said bilateral trade increased by 20 percent during the first eight months of this year compared with the same period in 2025.

The event was attended by a number of officials, ambassadors, journalists and invited guests.
Karçay said Turkish companies operate in Jordan through direct investments or in partnership with Jordanian businesses, expressing appreciation for the Jordanian side's support for their successful operations.
He stressed the continued efforts to strengthen cooperation between the business communities of both countries, facilitate new opportunities for complementarity and partnership, and further develop economic relations across various sectors.
On transport and air connectivity, the ambassador said links between the two countries have become an increasingly important dimension of bilateral relations, while land transport offers an alternative for commercial freight.
He noted that Turkish Airlines, AnadoluJet and Pegasus, alongside Royal Jordanian and Jordan Aviation, operate a combined 124 weekly flights between Türkiye and Jordan.
Karçay highlighted the importance of connecting flights through Istanbul to destinations worldwide, saying the extensive air network and visa exemptions offer significant opportunities to boost tourism between the two countries.
He underscored the depth of Jordanian-Turkish relations, rooted in longstanding bonds of friendship and brotherhood, noting that the ties between His Majesty King Abdullah II and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan continue to guide bilateral relations.

He said the shared political will was demonstrated at the highest level during the King's visit to Türkiye on February 7.
Next year will mark the 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, providing an important opportunity to highlight the depth of bilateral ties and further strengthen them, he added.
On cultural and educational cooperation, Karçay said the Yunus Emre Turkish Cultural Centre in Amman ranks third worldwide among the centre's branches in terms of the number of Turkish-language learners, reflecting Jordanian interest in Türkiye, alongside Turkish-language departments at Jordanian universities.
He added that the widespread popularity of Turkish television dramas has helped boost interest in the Turkish language and culture, welcoming all those interested in learning Turkish at the Yunus Emre Institute.
Educational cooperation also continues through the Turkish Education Counsellor's Office and the Turkish Maarif Foundation, while the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) implements various projects in partnership with Jordanian authorities to preserve shared cultural heritage and pass it on to future generations, he said.
Karçay expressed condolences to the families of the victims of the October 23 attack on the church in Hamoud, Karak Governorate, wishing the injured a speedy recovery. He strongly condemned the attack and reaffirmed Türkiye's solidarity with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
On regional issues, the ambassador said Jordan and Türkiye maintain close consultations at various levels, particularly on the Palestinian issue, noting that comprehensive political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries were held in Ankara this week.
He described Palestine as a festering wound in the region, amid an unprecedented escalation in settler terrorism and illegal settlement activities in the West Bank.
Achieving lasting peace in the region requires a just solution, he said, stressing that the two-state solution remains the only path to a just and lasting peace and calling on the international community to make every possible effort to implement it.
Karçay reaffirmed the Republic of Türkiye's support for the Hashemite custodianship of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
He also stressed that Türkiye would continue providing political and financial support to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), backing its role in delivering comprehensive assistance to Palestinian refugees.
The opening of a UNRWA office in Ankara, he added, constitutes tangible evidence of Türkiye's support for the agency.

Karçay expressed confidence that Jordanian-Turkish cooperation would continue to grow on the basis of shared goals and mutual interests.
He concluded by paying tribute to the founder of the Republic of Türkiye, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, his fellow soldiers and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.
