King, Oman sultan discuss ways to de-escalate regional tensions

Amman, March 24 (Petra) -- His Majesty King Abdullah II and Sultan Haitham bin Tarik of Oman, during a phone call on Tuesday, discussed ways to de-escalate tensions in the region. His Majesty emphasized the need to reach an agreement that would bring the war to an end and guarantee the security of Arab states, reaffirming that the security of the Gulf is fundamental to the security and stability of the region and the world.
The King called for stepping up joint Arab coordination to strengthen regional security, commending Oman’s efforts to bring about a de-escalation through diplomacy and dialogue.
His Majesty also expressed his condolences over the victims of the floods across a number of regions in Oman, wishing a speedy recovery to those injured.
