Amman, March 31 (Petra) – The Lower House (LH) Foreign Affairs Committee, chaired by MP Haitham Ziyadin, met on Tuesday with the Egyptian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Khaled Abyad, to discuss ways to enhance bilateral relations and joint cooperation prospects, particularly in the parliamentary field. Talking at the meeting held at the House's headquarters, Ziyadin praised the "deep-rooted" Jordanian-Egyptian relations, which represent an "advanced model of pan-Arab cooperation based on continuous coordination and mutual understanding between the two leaderships." Ziyadin also called for building upon the achievements made to strengthen the partnership in various fields. He noted the House's keenness to consolidate its relations with its Egyptian counterpart by activating the role of parliamentary friendship committees and exchanging legislative expertise , which contribute to developing parliamentary performance and serving common interests.

For his part, the ambassador affirmed the "strong" brotherly relations, voicing his country's keenness to enhance the frameworks of bilateral cooperation.

The diplomat also commended the level of mutual coordination on issues of common interest. During the meeting, the two sides discussed a slew of regional and international developments, noting the importance of continued cooperation, consultation and coordination to enhance security and stability and serve the common interests.
