Amman, March 31 (Petra) -- The National Center for Human Rights organized a national dialogue at Aqaba University of Technology titled "Students and Party Life in Jordan: Towards Effective Youth Participation," as part of its ongoing efforts to promote informed political engagement among young people.

Dean of Student Affairs Ahmad Al-Tarawneh, in the presence of University President Mohammad Weshah, along with academics and students, emphasized the importance of building student awareness based on participation, noting that universities represent a key environment for fostering dialogue and engagement in public affairs.

For her part, NCHR Commissioner for Promotion, Nisreen Zreiqat, highlighted the transformations in Jordan’s political system, linking the outcomes of the Royal Committee to Modernize the Political System with the opportunities now available to youth. She stressed that the legislative framework has become more supportive of youth participation, but the real challenge lies in effectively implementing it on the ground.

Meanwhile, Head of the National Legislation Unit, Rami Ahmad Hashem, addressed the legal framework governing political party work, noting that the Political Parties Law No. (7) of 2022 represents a significant step forward in empowering youth.

Head of the Awareness and Training Department, Omar Bani Mustafa, reviewed the Center’s role in monitoring and promoting rights and freedoms, stressing that political participation is not optional but a fundamental component of the human rights system.
