Over 38 agreements signed to enhance economic performance, food security in 2025-Qudah

Amman, Jan. 11 (Petra) – Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Ya'rub Qudah, stated the ministry achieved "numerous and significant" milestones last year across its various portfolios and responsibilities, aligning with the goals of the Economic Modernization Vision.
The minister noted these achievements contribute to boost growth and create job opportunities, as well as streamlining, expediting, and automating procedures.
In a statement issued Sunday, Qudah added that these efforts led to a rise in the registration of sole proprietorships, trademarks, and patents, referring to measures related to protecting national production, safeguarding industrial property, enhancing competition, and promoting digital transformation and automation.
Qudah also noted the implementation of several measures to bolster food security, maintain the stability of supply chains, regulate markets and prices, and increase the Kingdom's strategic reserves of wheat and barley.
Furthermore, he referred to implementation of specific policies to support the Kingdom's industrial and commercial sectors and identify new export markets.
In the area of global economic partnership, he explained that numerous joint committee meetings and bilateral talks were held with counterparts in several countries, aimed to enhance mutual cooperation in various fields, particularly economic areas.
During 2025, he announced more than 38 agreements and memoranda of understanding were signed and the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Jordan and the UAE entered into force.
According to Qudah, Jordan secured the lowest reduction in US tariffs on Jordanian exports and work has also begun on signing preferential trade agreements with Rwanda and Uzbekistan, citing steps to strengthen industrial integration partnerships, among other initiatives.
Qudah highlighted steps to strengthen economic cooperation with Syria and increase he volume of Jordanian exports to Syria, referring to the ministry's milestone in winning the Arab Government Excellence Award as the best Arab ministry last year.
Additionally, he highlighted the "effective" steps to regulate and promote e-commerce and protect consumers, as well as measures to empower women and increase their economic participation.
