Amman, July 1 (Petra) – Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs Abdul-Moneim Al-Oudat said on Wednesday that the modernization scheme, with its political, economic, and administrative tracks, is an ongoing national approach to broaden popular participation in the decision-making process, safeguard democracy, and bolster the state's resilience in the face of challenges.

Addressing a meeting with members of the Amman Group for Future Dialogues, led by its president, Bilal Al-Tal, the minister said Jordan had firmly established itself as a voice of wisdom and moderation in a region rife with conflicts, through an approach based on consolidating security and stability and enhancing stability at both national and regional levels.

He stressed youth engagement in political life and empowerment to bring about "qualitative" change, and boost the presence of political parties in fieldwork.

Political parties are a key pillar of the national work system, and an active partner in solidifying the internal front amid rapidly evolving challenges and increasing complexities in the region, which require unified efforts and enhanced joint action to confront various challenges, Al-Oudat stressed.

Members of the Amman Group for Future Dialogues agreed on the importance of political parties in nation-building and promoting democratic life. They warned that a large number of parties would not serve the national interest, but merging these would help build more robust and effective parties.
