Queen Rania visits Jabal Al Lweibdeh to see preparations for upcoming Amman Design Week

Amman, Sept. 1 (Petra) - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah visited Jabal Al Lweibdeh neighborhood in Amman on Tuesday, where she met with local entrepreneurs and took a look at ongoing preparations for the fourth edition of Amman Design Week (ADW) ahead of its launch in October, according to Queen Rania's Office. The Queen began her visit with a stop at coworking community, BLDR Space, where she met with a group of entrepreneurs and startup owners to discuss their experiences establishing local business projects. Moderated by BLDR Space's founder and CEO, Natasha Salti, the conversation centered on changes in Jordan's workplace culture, including the shift from traditional offices to coworking spaces. Queen Rania then visited Darat Abu Adnan, which will serve as a venue for ADW 2026. Built for the Abu Hassan family in the 1950s, Darat Abu Adnan is one of the few remaining heritage houses in the neighborhood. The house was recently restored and is set to host ADW programs.

At Darat Abu Adnan, the Queen was welcomed by ADW Codirectors, Bisher Tabba and Sarah Hejazin, who briefed her on their team's progress in the final weeks ahead of the event's launch. Held under Her Majesty’s patronage, ADW 2026 will run from October 2 to 17 under the theme ‘Accumulations.’ The Queen viewed completed installations at the heritage home and checked in on the production and fabrication of two installations in its front garden. She passed by a workshop on weaving, where she stopped to meet its participants.

Founded by Queen Rania in 2016, ADW aims to showcase the designs and talents of local, regional and international designers and establish Amman as a regional hub for innovation and expression.

This year's event will feature over 200 participating exhibitors and designers, 50 participating spaces and 200 events, spread across Ras El Ain, Jabal Al Lweibdeh, Jabal Amman, Iraq Al Amir, and Aqaba.
