Amman, July 15 (Petra) -- Senate President Faisal Al-Fayez on Wednesday patronized the launch of a new book titled "A Homeland the Size of Hope" by Senator Zuhair Abu Fares, assistant to the Senate president, describing it as a qualitative addition to Jordan’s national and political literature.

Speaking at the launch event at the Royal Cultural Center, organized by the Jordanian National Youth Dialogue Forum in partnership with the Ministry of Culture, Al-Fayez said the book documents a pivotal phase in Jordan’s modern history. He added that the work offers a profound political and intellectual reading that champions the Jordanian state, its national institutions, and its Hashemite leadership.

The ceremony was attended by former Prime Minister Omar Razzaz, Minister of Culture Mustafa Rawashdeh, alongside several senators, lawmakers, and prominent political, cultural, and media figures.

Al-Fayez noted that the new publication, which builds on the author's previous book "Political Nightmares," comprises a collection of articles analyzing the political and social realities in Jordan and the wider region during a period of complex regional and domestic challenges.

He highlighted that the book addresses Jordan's ongoing modernization project, emphasizing the importance of public participation, defending the country’s gradual reform model, and standing firm against attempts to create division. It also underscores Jordan's unwavering position regarding the Palestinian cause and the rights of the Palestinian people.

According to Al-Fayez, the book warns against the dangers of the Israeli far-right and calls for strengthening the role of state institutions, particularly national media, in countering disinformation campaigns targeting the kingdom.

Senator Tawfiq Kreishan spoke at the event, describing the book as a major text in Jordanian political literature. He emphasized its value in reconstructing the national narrative surrounding statehood, identity, leadership, and reform and the importance of preserving these memories for future generations.

Riyad Yassin, president of the Jordanian Writers Association and professor of history at Yarmouk University, provided a critical review of the book. He noted that the title itself reflects a vision of hope as a national project for state administration and future planning.

Yassin added that the book serves as an important historical record of the period between 2023 and 2026, which witnessed significant political, administrative, and economic reforms, alongside the regional and global repercussions of the war in Gaza.

Jehad Al-Momani, a member of the Board of Commissioners of the Independent Election Commission who moderated the event, said the author successfully balances a staunch defense of the Jordanian state with a deep commitment to the Palestinian cause as a central national issue.

Saif Al-Islam Bani Mustafa, president of the National Youth Dialogue Forum, said the book delivers a strong cultural and patriotic message on national unity and the role of youth under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II and HRH Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II.

Concluding the event, the author, Senator Abu Fares, said the book represents the culmination of his thoughts and experiences. He emphasized that his articles were written with transparency and aimed to document Jordan's national narrative to provide future generations with a clear reading of the country's history, challenges, and achievements.
