Amman, Oct. 14 (Petra) – The Social Security Corporation (SSC) announced the number of active insured individuals has risen to over 1,705,000 during October.
In its statement, the SSC said this increase resulted from its recently activated measures, mainly inclusion of workers hired under the "Additional Education" system and new employees employed in the private education sector.
The SSC expressed its continuity to pursue measures, aimed at expanding the base of insured individuals under the Social Security Law and enhancing access to insurance protection for eligible groups.
The SSC added that its efforts to expand coverage under the social security umbrella are ongoing under expanded electronic integration with relevant entities, the use of government data to identify insurable workers, monitoring the status of establishments and their employees, and expanded field inspections to verify actual coverage under the SSC system.
The SSC affirmed expanding the base of active insured individuals is a "priority," given its role in enhancing social protection for workers and upholding the principle of insuring all groups under Social Security Law.
The SSC noted that this effort would guarantee these groups' insurance rights and provide protection, in accordance with the law's provisions.
On future vision, the SSC pledged continuity of implementing measures and initiatives to expand insurance coverage and enhance "efficiency" of its regulatory and electronic procedures, aimed to reach uncovered workers and ensure "greater" equity in carrying out Social Security Law.
