Amman, July 22 (Petra) -- Minister of Youth Raed Adwan, who serves as Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Al Hussein bin Abdullah II Award for Voluntary Service, chaired a coordination meeting on Wednesday to review executive plans for the award’s fourth cycle and expand national partnerships to promote a culture of volunteerism.

Adwan emphasized that the award has become a key national platform for honoring volunteer efforts and fostering a culture of community service, noting that the previous three cycles attracted more than 47,000 applicants across its four main categories and various fields.

He explained that the award is part of broader national efforts to advance the volunteering ecosystem, alongside the National Volunteer Charter and volunteer incentive frameworks developed by the High Steering Committee for Voluntary Service. These initiatives reflect an integrated national approach to embedding volunteerism as a core societal value and a sustainable institutional practice, Adwan added.

The Youth Minister highlighted the Cabinet's recent approval of the draft amended regulations governing the award to finalize its enactment. The amendments aim to keep pace with developments in the volunteer sector, enhance institutional governance, and refine evaluation and judging mechanisms to boost transparency and administrative efficiency.

Adwan outlined the roadmap for the fourth cycle, which includes a nationwide campaign to raise awareness about the award and provide training on the application process, followed by submission review, evaluation, and judging stages culminating in the announcement and honoring of winners.

Attendees reaffirmed the importance of inter-institutional collaboration to support volunteerism, expand award participation, and align volunteer initiatives with national priorities and community needs, reinforcing Jordan's leading role in voluntary work.

The meeting was attended by several ministers and relevant stakeholders.
