Ramallah, October 26 (Petra) For the fourth consecutive day, Israeli occupation forces have continued their military campaign in Hebron Governorate in the southern occupied West Bank.
Israeli occupation forces escalated incursions, deploying military reinforcements, imposing closures, seizing Palestinian-owned vehicles and assaulting civilians.
According to the Support and Relief Committee in Hebron, the number of Palestinians displaced from the city has risen to approximately 3,043.
In a statement, the Hebron Municipality reported that additional Israeli occupation forces, accompanied by armored military vehicles, entered the city late Sunday night through the Farsh al-Hawa entrance.
At the same time, forces raided the southern area near Jabal Karbaj, while further military reinforcements and large trucks arrived in the al-Jalda area.
The municipality added that occupation forces had divided a street in the Jabal al-Rahma neighbourhood into sections designated separately for Palestinians and settlers, severely restricting local residents' movement.
Occupation forces also raided the Jabal al-Ja’bari area, near the Diwan al-Ja’bari in Hebron's Wadi al-Qata’ district and broke into several homes.
Hebron Governor Khaled Dudin said occupation forces had deliberately destroyed the contents of homes, terrorised residents, established field interrogation centers and arrested 71 local residents.
He added that the forces were subjecting the governorate's population of nearly one million to abuse and opening fire on civilian vehicles.
In a statement issued Monday, Dudin reported that 450 families had been forcibly displaced, with more than 3,043 Palestinians uprooted from the areas of Deir Bahha and al-Jalda.
He added that occupation forces had searched more than 500 homes and effectively fragmented the governorate by establishing 128 closed gates and 120 military checkpoints.
In occupied Jerusalem, Israeli occupation authorities forced Hanan al-Rajabi, a Jerusalemite woman, to demolish her own home in Beit Hanina, north of the city, on the grounds that it had been built without a permit.
According to a statement by the Jerusalem Governorate, the demolition left al-Rajabi, her husband and their five children homeless.
Meanwhile, occupation forces fired tear gas canisters from behind the separation and expansion wall toward Airport Street, near Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied Jerusalem.
The demolition in Beit Hanina comes as Israeli occupation authorities continue to target Palestinian homes and structures in occupied Jerusalem over alleged violations of building permit requirements, while imposing strict restrictions on Palestinian construction and urban expansion.
