Amman, Oct. 29 (Petra) - The Jordanian Agricultural Entrepreneurship and Innovation Association hosted on Thursday Chinese Embassy in Amman Economic and Commercial Counselor Cheng Yongru, alongside the accompanying delegation, to study bilateral cooperation in agriculture, investment, and modern agritech areas.
Talking at the meeting, Association Head Emad Ayasrah mentioned the "strategic" importance of building on Jordan-China ties to open new economic and development avenues.
He also valued Chinese institutions that host association members in specialized training programs, stressing the need to continue these initiatives to build local capacity among young agricultural engineers and entrepreneurs.
Ayasrah also pointed to the AgriTech Jordan incubator's role in empowering startups by providing training, incubation, and direct access to investment opportunities.
Board member Motasem Hiyari outlined key agreements, which the association has signed with major Chinese organizations, including Ningbo Polytechnic, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Demonstration Base in Yangling, Beijing Holley-Cotec, and the Shanghai Silicon Intellectual Property Exchange, to advance joint research, technology transfer, and skills training.
For his part, Yongru lauded the association’s leadership in agricultural innovation and voiced China's commitment to deepening institutional collaboration, technology sharing, and mutual investment.
Looking ahead, Ayasrah called for translating these agreements into "active" joint projects, particularly in smart farming, water-saving irrigation, AI, medicinal plants, and food processing, to address water scarcity, climate change, and food security while creating local jobs.
